Awesome hotel and an excellent bar. Had my first (and probably last) 10yo Pappy experience, was amazing. When I win lotto will be back for the next tier up.
Amazing selection of bourbons and knowledges staff to help pick the best for you. Also had the best old fashioned in Louisville according to my wife
Also - before you leave - check out the basement room where Al Capone used to hang out
Very good bar inside of the Seelbach hotel. Very great warm and welcoming staff. Food and drinks were really good as well. Our favorite is the minted gold. The wings are really good as well as the spinach dip. One of my faves. The short rib was really good as well. Definitely will return. Tamara and Daniellle were our amazing g waitresses.
Ended up here with a sudden rain shower changed our walking plans to another restaurant. While we had a couple drinks the night before we hadn’t really looked at the food offerings. While fairly basic and simple they were excellent and worth a visit even without a weather condition.
Old Seelbach Bar very poor. Food slow and not worth money. A wagging party of 40+ individuals gathered and blocked aisles and the noise volume was unacceptable for a dining establishment. So crowded that we actually had people standing and watching us eat our dinner. I have video and still photos of group. Egress routes also blocked. Low point was when someone took one of our extra chairs, while we were eating. Then another person came to take two more chairs at our table. Unacceptable environment. Food not worth price. We informed manager (Mark) who said he talk to the group. Sadly we returned to Seelbach because of our first experience. Not sure I could recommend the hotel based on this experience.
The cocktail menu is only bourbon Bay so if you want a custom-made drink be sure to know what you're asking for. The waitress that we had was not very personable and accommodating. I thought she was quite rude and cold towards us. The bar food is just okay. Had the pretzel it was good the beer cheese was awful. The waitress suggested a drink which was promptly returned to the bar and she wanted to argue a little bit about why she thought it was good but she wasn't the one paying for it we were. It was just an okay experience
Best Food In Town!!! This is my new favorite place to go and try new bourbons but the food 😳 The chef I had the honor to meet name was Carl. He is one of the most talented and humble chefs I’ve met. The food is out of this world and cannot be duplicated. I’ve gotten the same dish more than once and it’s slightly different but great every time!! The steak nachos are wonderful !! The Mac and cheese balls are great but the homemade sauce that comes with it is UNBELIEVABLE!! Out of this world!! I asked if he was cooking cause I’m not sure if any of that food could be replicated it’s one of a kind !! They also have a variety of bourbons the flights are fun and they really seem to be knowledgeable about the bourbons. It’s a great place to start off if you’re a bourbon enthusiast for sure. I’ve discovered some new drinks there. Molly is a really sweet helpful waitress. She’s very nice and patient. It’s a great place !! Very historical!! Most people go for the bourbon from my observation but as long as Carl is in that kitchen, I’ll be a regular returning customer. Literally the BEST FOOD IN TOWN !!
The bar at the Seelbach is a great place to hang out and chill with friends. The low lights and overall ambiance offers a perfect relaxation space. The drinks are wonderful. I had an old fashioned and the signature Seelbach. The old fashioned was excellent: definitely in my top three. The Seelbach is bitter and sweet, so if that is to your taste, then you'll love it. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any question you have. To visit the Seelbach or its establishments is a real treat.
